From Basketball Families
What parents are saying courtside.
"These shorts have quickly become a favorite for basketball practice, training, and everyday wear. They are comfortable, fit well, and allow for plenty of movement on the court. … Most importantly, they are shorts that my son genuinely enjoys wearing and chooses often."
"… he's super picky with shorts. He chafes extremely easily and with his Eyrx shorts — the material is incredibly soft and properly wicks sweat. He doesn't want to take them off. NO MORE CHAFING! … Would absolutely buy again!"
Youth Basketball Shorts for Practice, Open Gym and Tournament Weekends
CoreFlex youth basketball shorts are built for kids who hoop more than once a week. Practice on Tuesday, open gym on Thursday, two games on Saturday. They have 4-way stretch for every jab step and closeout, a zip pocket that holds a phone through a full-court run, and odor-resistant fabric that still makes it home fresh from a tournament bracket. Boys' and girls' cuts, made for kids instead of shrunk down from adult patterns.
Girls' Basketball Shorts With a Built-In Liner
A lot of girls hoop in shorts cut for boys, with spandex layered underneath. CoreFlex girls' styles are cut for her and come with a built-in compression liner, so there is one layer to pull on and nothing to tug at between possessions. Same stretch, same zip pocket, same court-ready fabric as the boys' styles. See every girls' style in the girls' athletic shorts collection.
What to Look For in Youth Basketball Shorts
- Range of motion. Defensive slides, closeouts and full extension at the rim. If the shorts pull when they get low, they are the wrong shorts.
- A length that clears the knee. Nothing should catch on a jab step or a crossover.
- Pockets that hold. Open gym means a phone and a house key. A zip pocket keeps them in through a full-court run.
- Fabric that handles two games in one day. Breathable and odor resistant, so pool play in the morning does not follow them into the bracket.
Our coach's guides go deeper on what youth basketball shorts need to get right and what kids should wear to basketball practice.

Youth Basketball Shorts FAQ
Do these basketball shorts have a zipper pocket?
Yes. Every pair has deep side pockets plus a zip pocket that holds a phone or house key through a full-court run.
Are there girls' basketball shorts?
Yes. The girls' styles in this collection are cut for girls and have a built-in compression liner, so she does not need spandex underneath.
What size should I order?
Go by height, not age. Boys' and girls' styles both run XS to XL, and you can mix sizes inside a bundle. Girls' styles fit generously, so if she is between sizes the smaller one is usually right. Inseams by height are in our girls' shorts length guide.
Can they wear them to school too?
That is how most kids wear them. The same pair goes from class to recess to practice, which is why comfort matters as much as the court features.
How do I keep them fresh between games?
Pull them out of the gym bag the same day, wash cold inside out and skip the fabric softener. The full routine is in our wash and care guide.
